As a top Mint Hill NC chiropractor, I'd like to discuss our food industry’s attempt to try to make food better.  Man, in all his wisdom, Has worked tirelessly at making the perfect foods -  vegetables, fruits, and grains - better by Refining them, processing them, and adding chemicals to them. By doing so, man has created an American diet that is deficient.

For decades, people have tried making the best even better only to find out that there was no way to improve upon the product. For instance, prior to World War II, food factories in Denmark were processing brown rice and wheat flour to make white rice and white flour. Once the war hit, they didn't have the money to continue the processing and went back to selling and consuming more and more brown rice and wheat flour.

So, what was the outcome? The death rate in Denmark went down 39% and there was a significant decline in cancer, diabetes, and kidney disease. Despite such examples and dozens of studies, processed foods make up nearly 90% of the American diet.

How do I Define “processed” foods? These are foods that have been altered from their natural state. The methods used for processing foods in America include freezing, refrigeration, canning, dehydration, and aseptic processing.
