Healthcare Spending in The U.S Discussed by Mint Hill NC Chiropractor
Here are some amazing results from the World Health Organization worldwide study created in 2000 Regarding healthcare worldwide. The United States was ranked number one in healthcare spending. However, even with all this spending, the USA ranked 37th in overall health! That was lower than many third-world countries!
Individuals think that modern medicine is the answer to the healthcare crisis in America. This however is simply not true. Using modern technology to cure disease is very expensive and often ineffective. Experts in the field of medicine realize that despite the use of advanced technology, there has been no decline in the health crisis in America.
Big business is one of the reasons for this in my opinion. Studies show that junk food advertising far outspends healthy eating promotion dollars spent in the USA. Food, beverage and restaurant advertising was approximately 11.3 billion dollars back in 2004. The money spent to advertise the Five a Day campaign, which promoted eating five or more servings of fruits and vegetables daily, was approximately 9.6 million dollars!
Just to give you an idea of the difference, the ad budget for the top sending fast food restaurants was about 240 times greater than the budget for the Five a Day campaigns! The junk food industry is spending billions of dollars to flood consumers with messages to buy and consume food - junk food with little nutritional value. Public health and nutrition messages like the 5 a Day campaign years ago are drowned out.
Healthcare Spending by Mint Hill NC Chiropractor
It is hard to believe that there are people dying of an inadequate diet in the United States where there is a surplus of food... but it is true. There appears to be little hope of reversing the trend despite spending 1.4 trillion dollars per year on Healthcare.
Back in 2000, the World Health Organization (WHO) performed a huge worldwide ranking of the Health Care status of various Nations around the world. The results were staggering!
